What interests me greatly, and forms the essence of my talks and workshops, is how we can help ourselves to live more mindfully and gently within ourselves, in our everyday life activities. How can we manage ourselves in a world that seems for many of us to be overwhelming?
Living Gently in a Frantic World is tailored to those with an interest in meditation and contemplative living, and also to those either in the autistic spectrum, or for those supporting those with autism.
In the Alexander technique we learn to re-inhabit our body and find ways of getting out of the way of ourselves. Throughout my Alexander technique teacher training, I was fascinated by the connection between the getting out of the way of ourselves, and the getting out of the way of that something greater, that flow of energy which some people call God, and others call a higher self or higher power. I asked myself the question, Is there really any disparity between the deepest part of our being and God (Higher self)? And if so, how can we be more at home in our true self / deeper self, and feel a greater sense of wholeness in a world that can feel at times as if it is constantly taking us off balance?
Helping people to cultivate stillness in themselves and engaging with the world from out of this stillness is the aim of Living Gently in a Frantic World. It has also become my very own personal vocation and is forever a work in progress. If you would like further information please do feel free to make contact.
