My name is Chris Goodchild. Welcome to my website.
I am a teacher of the Alexander technique, spiritual director and author of A Painful Gift , which is the autobiography I have written, published by Darton, Longman and Todd in 2009. In the book I outline my life and the many challenges I have faced, as well as the experiences that have influenced my vocational choices and my philosophy on life, including my commitment to offering all my services on an expenses-only and donation-based arrangement. I live in London.
On my website I would also like to introduce you to a programme of events, talks and workshops which I have called Living Gently in a Frantic World. This programme is tailored to those who have an interest in meditation and also to those living with autism or caring for people who are in the autistic spectrum.
The Alexander technique and Spiritual direction, both well respected disciplines in their own right, are also both gentle processes of self exploration and healing. By weaving these two disciplines together I am exploring how the principles of the Alexander technique can be invaluable, not only in enabling people to achieve a greater sense of relaxation and wellbeing, but also in facilitating in the art of meditation and living more gently and mindfully within ourselves and in the world.
